The Beauty Of Truth - by bruce potter

Captivating: unveiling the mystery of a woman soul

September 12th 2006 09:20
It's been a while since my last entry. Well this time round it something you guys might want to remember. Hehehe....*cheeky smilez*

Many times girls get so caught up with expectations of the world. Tough world out there! Girls hear the messages: You are not enough, and You are too much. You're too messy, too emotional, too fat, too thin, too vain, too confident. So much has been said that we get confuse and loose the real essence of being all the God wants us to be and forget the true desires of our hearts.

Read the book "Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul ". An awesome book not only for girls but for guys too. I mean....if you want to know the true desires of a women, this is the book to read. So yeah, i would recommend it to anyone. Anyway, Stasi Eldredge talked about the heart of a women. In summary she said that the heart of a woman is the place where we are most truly ourselves. The heart of a woman is about a woman's desires. and she added that the way to understand what you desire is to ask: What makes me come alive as a woman? What do I enjoy? What am I naturally drawn to?

Having read the book and done a bit or reflection...there are three main desires of every women: First, women desire romance; they want to be pursued. Second, women desire to play an irreplaceable role in a heroic adventure. We don't just want to be an appendage; we weren't made for that. And the third desire is to be the beauty in a story, the heroine.

More will be talked about this...so stay tune.

Although I haven't yet read the book, I am an avid reader and may one day get around to it.

This is co-written by a male, her husband...I am slightly suspicious when women ask there husbands to join them in a book that's title should clearly not involve them and it puts me off. We have been listening to what men think since time began and if we are going to write these books for empowerment and self discovery surely we don't need a male as our testimony.

I am also not very religious but like to read books that are...otherwise I would be ignorant with no grounds for not being religious.

The main reason for responding to your blog though is that I believe that are many more facets to a women's personality, needs, wants and desires

I would question the three main desires of women as laid out in the book and may suggest the following instead.
Women desire a voice, women desire choice and they desire a hand with the cooking ever now and again

Hey Penster70...

do get ard reading this book. It really thought me heaps about myself as a women. Do let me know how you felt about the book.

In response to your question abt why should women ask their husbands to co-write their book....well i tink men bring a different perspective to certain issues we as women may be ignorant towards. Its just another point of view i guess.

But yeah...i agree, we do need a voice, a desire choice...not sure abt cooking every now and then. Haahaa.......peace.

they say "behind a great man stands an even greaster woman" and i have to say i do agree with them. no man should go at life alone. I doubt they would survive.

Cher ...

I'm not being flippant or facetious (which is quite a change for me) but a lot of what you've written can be applied to creative writing ...

I'm going to keep the following in mind, whenever I write anything about a Woman or Women:

First, women desire romance; they want to be pursued. Second, women desire to play an irreplaceable role in a heroic adventure. We don't just want to be an appendage; we weren't made for that. And the third desire is to be the beauty in a story, the heroine.

The thing is.....Men are from Uranus (the new Mars). They don't feel (within) like we do. Their hard drive
is wired differently. It's a throw back to the cave man era. They don't get. Will they ever?

I know there will be guys out there now going, "boo, hiss, I'm in touch with my feminine side" ....yeah, yeah, bladee blah, really? Do they just say it? or do they just think it? The question is - do they feel it?
